RMW Law LLP is authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) with registered number 561284. The Code of Conduct for Firms and the Code of Conduct for Solicitors can be found in the SRA Standards and Regulations, which can be viewed  here.

We aim to provide the highest possible standard of professional skills and services. However, if at any point you become unhappy or concerned about the service we have provided then you should inform us immediately, so that we can do our best to resolve the problem. Making a complaint will not affect how we handle your case.

In the first instance it may be helpful to contact the person who is working on your case to discuss your concerns and we will do our best to resolve any issues. If you would like to make a formal complaint, please write to us at our office address (on the home website page) or email  compliance@rmwlaw.co.uk. Our complaints procedure is as follows:

 
  1. We will acknowledge your complaint in writing within 5 working days. 

  2. We will review your complaint. This investigation should normally take 10-15 working days. 

  3. If appropriate, we will invite you to a meeting to discuss and resolve your complaint. 

  4. If we resolve your complaint, we will write to confirm what resolution was agreed. 

  5. If your complaint is not resolved, you can contact us for a second time and another partner will review the decision. 

  6. We will write to confirm our final position within 15 working days.

If at any point we are unable to meet these timescales we will inform you as soon as reasonably possible. Please contact us for more information and to request a copy of our terms of business.

What to do if we cannot resolve your complaint

The Legal Ombudsman can help you if we are unable to resolve your complaint ourselves. They will look at your complaint independently and it will not affect how we handle your case. Before accepting a complaint for investigation, the Legal Ombudsman will check that you have tried to resolve your complaint with us first. If you have, then you must take your complaint to the Legal Ombudsman:
  1. Within six months of receiving a final response to your complaint,

  2. And:
    1. No more than one year from the date of the act or omission being complained about; or

    2. No more than one year from when you should reasonably have known there was cause for complaint.

What to do if you are unhappy with our behaviour

The Solicitors Regulation Authority can help if you are concerned about our behaviour. This could be for things like dishonesty, taking or losing your money or treating you unfairly because of your age, a disability or other characteristic.

Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013: If you have instructed RMW Law LLP as an individual to act for you in your personal capacity, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have a fourteen-day cooling-off period during which you may decide to cancel your contract with us. You may cancel your contract during the cancellation period by providing us with a clear statement of your decision in writing to mail@rmwlaw.co.uk
