Dr Matthew Lenaghan Qualifies as a Solicitor

RMW Law is pleased to announce that Dr Matthew Lenaghan has qualified as a solicitor.

Matthew joined RMW Law in 2024 and brings to the firm an unusual combination of legal, medical and psychological expertise. Before entering the legal profession, he trained and worked as a medical doctor, including in psychiatry, and also completed a Master's degree in Applied Developmental Psychology.

He subsequently completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Law and an LLM in Law and Legal Practice (Solicitor) at BPP University, achieving distinction in both qualifications.

As part of his legal training, Matthew also completed a six-month secondment with the trust and estate disputes team of a leading international law firm in London, where he gained experience of complex contentious trust and estate matters.

Matthew's background is particularly relevant to private client work involving questions of mental and testamentary capacity, vulnerability, medical evidence, succession planning and complex family circumstances. His combined medical and legal training enables him to approach such matters with an informed understanding of both the legal and evidential issues that can arise.
